Pylotrip 30 mg+1000 mg+500 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Eradication of H. pylori in active chronic gastric ulcers
• Eradication of H. pylori in duodenal ulcers
• Eradication of H. pylori in gastric ulcers

Pharmacology

• Lansoprazole inhibits stomach's production of gastric acids
• Amoxicillin inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls
• Clarithromycin interferes with bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the subunit 50S of the bacterial ribosome

Dosage & Administration

• Adult dose: One strip twice daily for 7-14 days
• Adult dose: As per the physician's advice
• Geriatric use: Care should be taken when administering to elderly patients with asymptomatic renal and hepatic dysfunction

Interaction

• Lansoprazole is metabolized through the cytochrome P450 system
• Clarithromycin use may increase serum theophylline concentrations
• Reported interactions with erythromycin and/or clarithromycin with various drugs such as carbamazepine, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, etc.

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to any of its components

Pregnancy & Lactation

• No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
• Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk
• Amoxicillin excreted in human milk in very small amounts
• Consider discontinuing nursing or drug therapy taking into account the importance of the therapy to the mother

Precautions & Warnings

• Serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity reactions reported in patients on Amoxicillin therapy
• Reactions more likely to occur in individuals with a history of penicillin hypersensitivity
• Clarithromycin should not be used in pregnant women except in clinical circumstances where no alternative therapy is appropriate
