Indications
- Acute and delayed nausea and vomiting
- Uncontrolled nausea and vomiting
- Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV)

Pharmacology
- 5-HT3 receptor antagonist
- Strong binding affinity for 5-HT3 receptor
- Little or no affinity for other receptors
- Influence on postoperative nausea and vomiting
- Selective participation in the emetic response
- Works by blocking the actions of serotonin at 5-HT3 receptor
- Linear dose-proportional pharmacokinetics
- Volume of distribution of approximately 6.9-7.9 L/kg
- Metabolized via kidney and liver CYP isoenzymes
- Excreted as unchanged drug in the urine

- Usual dosage for adults and children
- Different dosage for chemotherapy-induced, radiotherapy-induced, and post-operative nausea and vomiting

Interaction
- Safety with corticosteroids, analgesics, and antiemetics/antinauseants
- No inhibition of antitumor activity of specific chemotherapeutic agents
- No significant pharmacokinetic interactions with metoclopramide
- Low potential for clinically significant drug interactions

- Hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components
