Description

  • Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses the final step in gastric acid production
  • Used for peptic ulcer diseases, GERD, Ulcer induced by NSAIDs, Eradication of Helicobacter pylori, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Dosage

  • 40 mg daily for benign gastric ulcer
  • 20-40 mg daily for GERD
  • 40 mg daily for duodenal ulcer
  • 40 mg twice daily for duodenal ulcer associated with H. pylori
  • 20 mg daily for NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer
  • 80 mg initially for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Reconstitution

  • IV injection should be given as a slow intravenous injection
  • Reconstituted solution may be stored at room temperature for a maximum of 4 hours
  • IV infusion should be given over a period of approximately 15 minutes
