Description
- Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses the final step in gastric acid production
- Used for peptic ulcer diseases, GERD, Ulcer induced by NSAIDs, Eradication of Helicobacter pylori, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Dosage
- 40 mg daily for benign gastric ulcer
- 20-40 mg daily for GERD
- 40 mg daily for duodenal ulcer
- 40 mg twice daily for duodenal ulcer associated with H. pylori
- 20 mg daily for NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer
- 80 mg initially for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Reconstitution
- IV injection should be given as a slow intravenous injection
- Reconstituted solution may be stored at room temperature for a maximum of 4 hours
- IV infusion should be given over a period of approximately 15 minutes
- Admixed solution may be stored at room temperature and must be used within 24 hours
