Indications
- Peptic ulcer diseases
- Gastroesophageal reflux diseases
- Ulcer induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics)
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
Pharmacology
- Proton pump inhibitor
- Suppression of gastric acid production
- Covalently binding to H+/K+ATPase enzyme system
Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration
- Benign gastric ulcer: 40mg daily in the morning for 4 weeks
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease: 20-40mg daily in the morning for 4 weeks
- Duodenal ulcer: 40mg daily in the morning for 2 weeks
- Duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori: 40mg twice daily for one week with antibiotics
- Prophylaxis of NSAID-associated gastric or duodenal ulcer: 20mg daily
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Initially 80mg once daily
