Indications
- Management of moderate to moderately severe pain in adults
- Short-term (five days or less) management of acute pain
Pharmacology
- Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties
- Weak anti-inflammatory activity
- Acts primarily in the CNS
- Increases pain threshold
- Inhibits isoforms of cyclooxygenase (COX-1, COX-2, COX-3) enzymes
- Tramadol is a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic
- Mode of action not completely understood
- Binds to μ-opioid receptors
- Inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose for moderate to moderately severe pain
- Recommended dose for short-term (five days or less) management of acute pain
- Maximum daily dose
- Can be administered without regard to food
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to tramadol, paracetamol, or any component of the product
- Contraindicated in situations where opioids are contraindicated

- Caution in dose selection for elderly patients
- Not studied in patients with impaired renal function
- Dosing interval adjustment for patients with creatinine clearances less than 30 ml/min
- Not studied in patients with impaired hepatic function
