Indications
- Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
- Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN)
- Adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older
- Fibromyalgia
- Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury
Pharmacology
- Structural derivative of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
- Binds to alpha2-delta site in CNS tissues
- Anti-nociceptive and antiseizure effects
Dosage
- Maximum recommended dose of 100 mg three times a day for DPN
- Recommended dose of 75 to 150 mg two times a day for PHN
- Recommended dose of 300 to 450 mg/day for fibromyalgia
- Recommended dose range of 150 to 600 mg/day for spinal cord injury
- Instructions for switching from Pregabalin capsules to Pregabalin CR capsule tablet
Administration
- Oral route of administration
- Can be taken with or without food
- Pregabalin CR tablet should be taken after an evening meal
- Instructions for missed doses and discontinuation
