Indications

  • Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
  • Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN)
  • Adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury

Pharmacology

  • Structural derivative of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
  • Binds to alpha2-delta site in CNS tissues
  • Anti-nociceptive and antiseizure effects

Dosage

  • Maximum recommended dose of 100 mg three times a day for DPN
  • Recommended dose of 75 to 150 mg two times a day for PHN
  • Recommended dose of 300 to 450 mg/day for fibromyalgia
  • Recommended dose range of 150 to 600 mg/day for spinal cord injury
  • Instructions for switching from Pregabalin capsules to Pregabalin CR capsule tablet

Administration

  • Oral route of administration
  • Can be taken with or without food
  • Pregabalin CR tablet should be taken after an evening meal
  • Instructions for missed doses and discontinuation

Interaction

  • Unlikely involvement in significant pharmacokinetic drug interactions

Contraindications
