Indications

Pharmacology

  • Suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell

Dosage

  • Recommended oral doses for various conditions such as active duodenal ulcer, active benign gastric ulcer, erosive or ulcerative GERD, GERD maintenance, symptomatic treatment of moderate to very severe GERD, treatment of GERD in pediatric patients, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

Administration

  • Rabeprazole tablets to be taken in the morning, before eating, should not be chewed or crushed, but swallowed whole

Interaction

  • Potential interactions with compounds like ketoconazole, itraconazole, liquid antacids, and atazanavir

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients
