Description
Netac-R is indicated for the treatment of active duodenal ulcer, benign gastric ulcer, ulcer associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, post-operative stress ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and gastrointestinal hemorrhage from stress ulcer in seriously ill patients. The product competitively blocks histamine at H2-receptors of the gastric parietal cells, inhibiting gastric acid secretion. It is available in tablet and syrup form. Dosage varies based on the condition being treated. It is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Ranitidine. Side effects are usually uncommon and well tolerated. Ranitidine crosses the placenta and is excreted in human breast milk. Use in special populations such as elderly patients requires reduced dosage. Netac-R is categorized as an H2 receptor antagonist and should be stored in a cool and dry place, protected from light.
