Indications

Description

Pharmacology
- Potent, highly selective 5HT3 receptor-antagonist
- Precise mode of action not fully known
- Blocks initiation of vomiting reflex

Interaction

Side Effects

- Occasional occurrences of rash, sensation of flushing or warmth, hiccups, and liver enzyme abnormalities
- Rare cases of anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, tachycardia, chest pain, hypokalemia, shortness of breath
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Carcinogenic effects not seen in animal studies
- No evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus in animal studies
- Caution advised when administered to nursing women
