Description
Rosutin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, indicated for patients with primary hyperlipidemia, mixed dyslipidemia and other conditions. It reduces elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels and increases HDL-C. It also has interactions and contraindications that need to be carefully considered.
DosageAndAdministration
- Usual dose range of Rosuvastatin is 5-20 mg/day
- Maximum recommended dose is 20 mg/day
- Doses should be individualized according to the recommended goal of therapy
- Adjustments should be made at intervals of 4 weeks or more
Pharmacology
Competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, enhances uptake and catabolism of LDL, inhibits hepatic synthesis of VLDL, reduces total number of VLDL and LDL particles

- Concomitant lipid-lowering therapies
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to product components
- Liver disease
- Pregnant women and women who may become pregnant
- Nursing mothers

PregnancyAndLactation
- Administered to women of childbearing age only when unlikely to conceive
- Discontinue therapy immediately if patient becomes pregnant
PrecautionsAndWarnings
- Prescribed with caution in patients with predisposing factors for myopathy
- Concurrent administration of other lipid-lowering therapies may increase risk of myopathy
- Recommended liver enzyme tests before and at regular intervals following initiation of therapy
