- Therapeutic Class: Statins
- Anti-anginal & Anti-ischaemic drugs
Description
- SB-Rostin is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, indicated for various conditions like hyperlipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, dyslipidemia, and familial hypercholesterolemia. It works by reducing LDL-C, total-C, ApoB, non HDL-C, and TG levels, and increasing HDL-C. It should be administered with caution in patients with predisposing factors for myopathy, and the risk of myopathy may be increased with concurrent administration of certain lipid-lowering therapies. The dose range varies for different conditions, and it interacts with drugs such as cyclosporine, gemfibrosil, lopinavir/ritonavir, atazanavir/ritonavir, and coumarin anticoagulants.
