Indications

Pharmacology

  • Long-acting non-sedative histamine H1-receptor antagonist
  • Platelet activating factor (PAF) antagonist
  • Bronchoconstriction prevention
  • Inhibition of mast cell degranulation and cytokine release

Dosage & Administration

  • Adults and Adolescents: 10 mg once a day
  • Children 2-11 years:
    • 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) for children weighing 25 kg or more
    • 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 ml) for children weighing 10-25 kg

Interaction

  • Medicine:
    • Caution with ketoconazole or erythromycin
    • Caution with statins, CNS depressants, or alcohol
  • Food: Avoid simultaneous intake with grapefruit or grapefruit juice

  • Hypersensitivity to Rupatadine or excipients
