Description

Film-coated tablet, extended-release tablet

Dosage Strengths

  • 50 mg sitagliptin/500 mg metformin
  • 50 mg sitagliptin/1000 mg metformin
  • 100 mg sitagliptin/1000 mg metformin

Administration

  • Twice daily with meals
  • Administer once daily with a meal

Maximum Daily Dose

100 mg sitagliptin and 2000 mg metformin

Interaction with Drugs

  • Cationic Drugs: Use with caution
  • Phenprocoumon: Metformin may decrease the anticoagulant effect
  • Levothyroxine: May reduce the hypoglycemic effect of metformin

Contraindications

  • Renal disease or dysfunction
  • Metabolic acidosis
  • History of serious hypersensitivity reaction

Overdose Effects

  • Metformin Hydrochloride: Hemodialysis may be useful for removal of accumulated drug
