Mode of Action

  • Anti-epileptic activity against a variety of seizures

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral administration once or twice daily
  • Initial dosage for adults and children
  • Maintenance dosage for epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and prophylaxis of migraine
  • Injection dosage for adults and children

Interaction

  • Non-specific inhibitor of drug metabolism
  • Significant interactions with Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Warfarin, Aspirin

  • Known hypersensitivity to the drug
  • Liver dysfunction
