Description

Composition

  • Sodium Valproate tablet containing 200 mg of Sodium Valproate BP
  • Sodium Valproate syrup containing 200 mg of Sodium Valproate BP
  • Sodium Valproate controlled release tablets in 200mg, 300mg, and 500mg strengths
  • Sodium Valproate injection containing Sodium Valproate BP equivalent to 500 mg of Valproic Acid

Mode of Action

  • Has anti-epileptic activity against various seizures
  • Increases brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)

Dosage and Administration

  • Oral tablets given once or twice daily, syrup in divided doses
  • Dosage varies for different conditions and age groups
  • Injection given via slow intravenous injection or infusion

Interaction
