Pharmacology
- Regulates glucose metabolism
- Stimulates glucose utilization by liver, muscles, and fat tissue
- Accelerates glucose to glycogen transformation
- Inhibits gluconeogenesis
Dosage
- Individualized dosage based on patient differences
- Influenced by food, work, and exercise intensity
- Type 1 diabetic patients: 0.5-1.0 IU/kg/day
- Pre pubertal children: 0.7-1.0 IU/kg/day
- Type 2 diabetic patients: 0.3-0.6 IU/kg/day
Administration
- Subcutaneous injection 15 minutes to 1 hour before meal
- Prepare before use

Interaction
- Oral contraceptives and adrenal cortical hormone increase blood glucose
- Drugs with hypoglycemic activities decrease blood glucose

- Hypoglycemia
- Allergic reaction to insulin or excipients
