Pharmacology

  • Regulates glucose metabolism
  • Stimulates glucose utilization by liver, muscles, and fat tissue
  • Accelerates glucose to glycogen transformation
  • Inhibits gluconeogenesis

Dosage

  • Individualized dosage based on patient differences
  • Influenced by food, work, and exercise intensity
  • Type 1 diabetic patients: 0.5-1.0 IU/kg/day
  • Pre pubertal children: 0.7-1.0 IU/kg/day
  • Type 2 diabetic patients: 0.3-0.6 IU/kg/day

Administration

  • Subcutaneous injection 15 minutes to 1 hour before meal
  • Prepare before use
  • Injection site and method instructions

Interaction

  • Oral contraceptives and adrenal cortical hormone increase blood glucose
  • Drugs with hypoglycemic activities decrease blood glucose

Contraindications

  • Hypoglycemia
  • Allergic reaction to insulin or excipients

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • No restrictions on insulin treatment during pregnancy
