Dosage Strength

Dosage Instructions
- Individually adjusted according to the patient's tolerance and response
- Taken in evenly divided doses preferably after meals
Pediatric Dosage
- 40 to 60 mg/kg/day divided into 3 to 6 doses for Ulcerative Colitis
- 10 mg/kg/day orally in 2 equally divided doses for Rheumatoid Arthritis 6 years or older
Mode of Action
- Under investigation, related to anti-inflammatory and/or immunomodulatory properties
- Affinity for connective tissue and high concentration in serous fluids, liver, and intestinal walls
Interaction
- Reduced absorption of folic acid and digoxin when administered concomitantly with Zulfidin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Sulfasalazine, its metabolites, sulfonamides, or salicylates
- Intestinal or urinary obstruction
- Porphyria
