Indications
- Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Pharmacology
Tadalafil is a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Inhibition of PDE5 increases cGMP in smooth muscle cells, causing penile erection. It also relaxes smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder wall, improving blood flow to the urinary tract.
Dosage & Administration
- Starting dose of 10 mg for Erectile Dysfunction
- Recommended dose of 5 mg for Benign prostatic hyperplasia
- Recommended dose of 5 mg for Combined Erectile Dysfunction and Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Interaction
May interact with Nitrates, Alpha adrenergic blockers, Antihypertensives, Alcohol, Antacids, Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Grapefruit juice, Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin & Phenobarbital

Pregnancy & Lactation
Tadalafil is assigned to pregnancy category B. Use during pregnancy only when benefit outweighs risk. Caution should be used when administering tadalafil to nursing women.
