Dosage & Administration

  • Adult: Starting dose of 5 mg once daily, may be increased to 10 mg and then to 20 mg if necessary
  • Children: Safety and effectiveness not established
  • Patients With Renal or Hepatic Impairment: Initial daily dose should be 5 mg
  • Geriatrics: Dose adjustment may be necessary in significant renal or hepatic dysfunction

Interaction

  • Not to be combined with other β-blocking agents
  • Close monitoring with catecholamine-depleting drugs
  • Careful use with centrally active antihypertensive agents and antiarrhythmic agents
