Indications

Pharmacology
Tadalafil is a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Inhibition of PDE5 increases cGMP in smooth muscle cells, causing penile erection. It also relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder, improving blood flow and voiding.
Dosage & Administration
- Erectile Dysfunction: Recommended starting dose is 10 mg. Maximum dosing frequency is once daily. Effective for up to 36 hours.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: Recommended dose is 5 mg taken daily.
- Combined Erectile Dysfunction and BPH: Recommended dose is 5 mg daily.
Interaction
May interact with Nitrates, Alpha adrenergic blockers, Antihypertensives, Alcohol, Antacids, Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Grapefruit juice, HIV protease inhibitors, Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital.

Pregnancy & Lactation
