Indications
- Treatment of onychomycosis of the toenail or fingernail
- Treatment of Tinea Capitis
- Treatment of fungal infection of the skin caused by specific organisms
- Treatment of tinea infections of the skin
- Treatment of pityriasis (tinea) versicolor
Pharmacology
- Inhibition of Ergosterol biosynthesis
- Fungal cell death through increased membrane permeability
- Activity against Tricophyton Mentagrophyte and Trichophyton Rubrum
Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration of 250 mg tablet daily for 6-12 weeks
- Granules dosage based on body weight
- Topical cream application once or twice daily for specific durations
- Spray application once or twice daily for specific durations
Interaction
- Inhibition of the CYP450 2D6 isozyme
- Potential interaction with specific drug classes
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to terbinafine
