Pharmacology
- Increases cerebral metabolism
- Improves cerebral microcirculation
- Increases glucose and O2 consumption
- Elevates cerebral norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin levels
- Reduces cerebral vascular resistance
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet: 1-2 tablets thrice daily
- IM Injection: 20-40 mg daily until improvement, then oral treatment
- IV Infusion: 20 mg starting dose in slow drip infusion, can be increased to 1 mg/kg body weight
Interaction
The injection is chemically incompatible with heparin
Contraindications
Severe ischaemic heart disease, severe rhythm disorders, pregnancy
