Indications
- Productive cough

- Greater bronchosecretolytic effect than bromhexine
- Improves sputum rheology
- Hydrating mechanism for liquefaction of mucus
- Stimulates production of phospholipids of surfactant
- Reduces bronchial hyperactivity
- Anti-inflammatory properties
Dosage & Administration
- Average daily dose after meal
- Pediatric Drops dosage for different age groups
- Syrup dosage for different age groups
- Sustained release capsule dosage for adults and children over 12 years
Interaction
- Not to be taken simultaneously with antitussives
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Ambroxol or Bromhexine
Side Effects

- Allergic responses such as eruption, urticaria or angioneurotic edema
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Teratogenic and fetal toxicity studies
- Advised not to use in pregnancy, especially during the 1st trimester
