Description

  • Indications:
    • Lower respiratory tract infections
    • Upper respiratory tract infections
    • Otitis media
    • Skin and soft tissue infections
    • Non-gonococcal urethritis
    • Cervicitis
  • Pharmacology:
    • Orally administered
    • Rapid absorption
    • High concentration in phagocytes
    • Long half-life
    • Active against various microorganisms
  • Dosage:
    • 500 mg for adults
    • 250 mg for children
    • 500 mg for pelvic inflammatory disease
    • Oral or IV administration
  • Administration:
    • Oral suspension reconstitution procedure
    • Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
  • Interaction:
    • Antacid interaction
    • Cyclosporine interaction
    • Digoxin interaction
    • Ergot derivatives contraindication
    • No effect on theophylline levels
    • No alteration of warfarin anticoagulant effect
