Indications

Pharmacology
- acid-stable
- orally administered

Dosage
- Oral:
- 500 mg once daily for 3 days
- 500 mg once on day 1, then 250 mg once on days 2-5 for 4 days
- Children:
- 10 mg/kg body weight once daily for 3 days
- 200 mg for 3 days (body weight 15-25 kg)
- 300 mg for 3 days (body weight 26-35 kg)
- 400 mg for 3 days (body weight 36-45 kg)
- 500 mg for 7-10 days (typhoid fever)
- Injection (IV Infusion):
- 500 mg once daily for at least two days
- 500 mg once daily for one or two days (pelvic inflammatory disease)
Administration
- Reconstitution procedure for suspension
- should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
