Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Total daily dosage range: 100-400 mg
- Single or twice-daily dosage
- Initial dosage: 100 mg per day, may be increased by 100 mg per week
- Combination therapy with diuretic or other antihypertensive agents
- Individualized dosage for angina pectoris and cardiac arrhythmias
- Specific dosages for hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias, hyperthyroidism, myocardial infarction
- Dosage adjustment in elderly and patients with significant hepatic dysfunction

Interaction
- Additive effect with catecholamine-depleting drugs

Overdose Effects
- Manifestations of hypotension, sinus bradycardia, atrioventricular block, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, bronchospasm, impairment of consciousness, coma, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, hypoglycemia, hyperkalaemia
- Treatment includes close monitoring of cardiovascular, respiratory, renal function, blood glucose, electrolytes, and symptomatic cardiovascular complication management
