Indications
- Treatment of pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes
- Treatment of acute bacterial otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, or Streptococcus pyogenes
- Treatment of acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae
- Treatment of lower respiratory tract infections including pneumoniae caused by various bacteria
- Treatment of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis caused by various bacteria
- Treatment of skin and skin-structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes
- Treatment of urinary tract infections caused by E.coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae

Pharmacology
- Broad-spectrum bactericidal activity
- Effective against β-lactamase producing strains
- Good stability to bacterial β-lactamase
- Active against ampicillin-resistant and amoxycillin-resistant strains
Dosage
- Adolescents and adults dosage for different infections
- Pediatric patients dosage for different infections
- Parenteral dosage for different patient groups and indications
- Specific dosage for surgical prophylaxis, pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, Gonorrhea, meningitis, bone and joint infections
Administration
- Recommendation to use freshly reconstituted solution
- Potency maintenance for at least 24 hours at room temperature or 48 hours at 5° C

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to Cephalosporins
Side Effects
- Adverse effects include rashes and gastrointestinal disturbances
- Prolonged use may result in the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms such as Candida
