SpecialInstructions
- First dose may cause hypotension, should be taken at bedtime
- Caution when administering with other antihypertensive agents
- Patients should avoid driving and hazardous tasks

Indications
- Relief from signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Treatment of hypertension
Pharmacology
- Selective for alpha-1-adrenoceptors
- Relaxation of smooth muscle in blood vessels and prostate
- Lowering blood pressure
- Improving urinary flow
- Induction of apoptosis of prostate cells
DosageAndAdministration
- Initial dose: 1 mg at bedtime
- Subsequent dose: 5-10 mg once a day for BPH
- Subsequent dose: 2-10 mg once a day for hypertension
Interaction
- Potential interaction with ACE inhibitors or diuretics
- No interaction with analgesics/anti-inflammatory, cardiac glycosides, hypoglycemic, antiarrhythmic, anxiolytics/sedatives, antibacterial, hormones/steroids, or gout medications
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Terazosin or its analogues
