Description
Esonaaf 20 mg Capsule is indicated for the relief of chronic heartburn symptoms, healing of erosive esophagitis, maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis, eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, acid related dyspepsia, duodenal and gastric ulcers. It is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell. Esonaaf is available in oral dosage form and IV injection or infusion for various indications. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation.

- 20 mg or 40 mg once daily for healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks for maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg once daily for symptomatic GERD
- 40 mg once daily for Helicobacter pylori eradication
- 20-80 mg once daily for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- 20-40 mg once daily for acid-related dyspepsia
- 20 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks for duodenal ulcer
- 20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks for gastric ulcer
- Different dosages for adult and pediatric patients
- Administration:
- Tablet or capsule should be swallowed whole and taken one hour before a meal
- Reconstituted solution for IV injection must be used within 12 hours of preparation
- Different administration procedures for oral suspension and IV injection
- Interaction:
- Extensively metabolized by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- Not likely to inhibit certain CYP enzymes
- May interfere with the absorption of drugs where gastric pH is important for bioavailability
- Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation
