Indications

Treatment of hemorrhoidal syndrome
Microcirculation disorders of arteriovenous origin
Clinical signs of chronic venous insufficiency in the lower limbs
Particular microangiopathy like diabetic retinopathy
Superficial thrombophlebitis as adjuvant therapy

Description

Vasoactive drug
Presumed effects on endothelial integrity
Capillary permeability and blood viscosity reduction
Improves blood circulation and blood supply to tissues and organs

Pharmacology

Decreases capillary hyperpermeability
Decreases platelet aggregation
Reduces serum viscosity

Dosage & Administration

One to two 500 mg capsules daily
Taken with the main meals
Treatment duration depends on the disease and its evolution
Dosage should be adapted individually according to the severity of the case

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Calcium Dobesilate
Dosage reduction in case of severe renal insufficiency requiring dialysis
Rare incidence of agranulocytosis
Immediate physician notification in case of infection symptoms

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disorders including nausea and diarrhea
Skin reactions
Fever
Articular pain
Rarely agranulocytosis
Reversible after treatment withdrawal

Pregnancy & Lactation

Not recommended in pregnant women
Unknown if it crosses the placental barrier in humans
Enters maternal milk in low quantities
Treatment or breast-feeding should be stopped as a precaution

Precautions & Warnings

Dosage reduction in case of severe renal insufficiency requiring dialysis
Decreases number of white blood cells
Patients to seek medical care if flu-like symptoms occur
