Indications

Description

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Serious hypersensitivity to other parenteral iron products
- Anaemia not attributed to iron deficiency
- Evidence of iron overload or disturbances in utilisation
Side Effects
- Infrequent and mild side effects
- Common side effects: nausea, headache, dizziness, hypertension, injection site reactions
- Uncommon side effects: hypersensitivity, dysgeusia, tachycardia, hypotension, flushing
- Rare side effects: anaphylactoid reactions, loss of consciousness, anxiety, phlebitis
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No adequate and well-controlled trials in pregnant women
- Animal data suggest influence on fetal skeletal development
- Limited data on breast-feeding women

- Serious hypersensitivity reactions reported
- Monitoring for signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity
- Transient elevations in systolic blood pressure

Use in Special Populations
