Composition

  • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP
  • Magnesium Hydroxide BP
  • Simethicone USP

Mode of Action

  • Non-systemic acid neutralizing substances
  • Antiflatulent properties of simethicone
  • Relief of ulcer by neutralizing gastric acid
  • Formation of a film of low surface tension
  • Collapsing of foam bubbles in GI tract
  • Physiologically inert usage of simethicone

Dosage & Administration

  • 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime
  • 1-2 teaspoonful of suspension after meal and at bedtime

Interaction

  • Effect on the rate and/or extent of absorption of oral drugs
  • Decrease bioavailability of certain oral drugs
  • Increase bioavailability of some drugs

Contraindications

  • Renal failure
  • Hypophosphataemia
  • Severe debilitation
  • Alkalosis
  • Hypermagnesaemia
  • Abdominal distention due to intestinal obstruction

Side Effects

  • Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects
  • Possible diarrhea with excessive consumption
  • Possible constipation with excessive consumption
  • Possible regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoidance in first trimester of pregnancy
