Description
Turboclav 250 mg Tablet is a combination of Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid, indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections caused by sensitive bacteria.

- Dosage & Administration
- The recommended dosage for adults is 250 mg b.i.d. for various infections, while for pediatric patients it is based on weight and the type of infection.
Pharmacology
Cefuroxime is a bactericidal second generation cephalosporin antibiotic, while Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Interaction
Concomitant administration of probenecid with Cefuroxime-Clavulanic Acid increases the serum concentration, while drugs that reduce gastric acidity may affect the bioavailability of Cefuroxime.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known allergy to cephalosporin and in patients with Pseudomembranous Colitis.
