Pharmacology
Provides anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting Phospholipase A2 enzyme and decreases the release of certain chemicals in the immune system
Dosage & Administration
- Adult maintenance doses within the range of 3-18 mg/day
- Initial dose usually 1.5 mg/kg/day for Nephrotic syndrome in children
- Titration to lowest effective dose for maintenance
Interaction
Metabolized in the liver, recommended to adjust maintenance dose if co-administered with liver enzyme inducers or inhibitors
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, Patients receiving live virus immunization
