Indications

  • Acute and delayed nausea and vomiting

  • Volume of distribution: 6.9-7.9 L/kg
  • Metabolism via liver and kidney

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual Adult tablet dosage: 0.5 mg daily
  • Usual Adult IV dosage: 0.075 mg over 10 seconds
  • Administration prior to chemotherapy and radiotherapy
  • Children dosage: Single IV dose at 20 mcg/kg

Interactions

  • Safe administration with corticosteroids, analgesics, antiemetics
  • No significant pharmacokinetic interactions with metoclopramide
  • Low potential for clinically significant drug interactions

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug or its components

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Unknown excretion in breast milk

Use in Special Populations

  • No dosage adjustment in elderly patients
  • Use in children: IV 20 mcg/kg, maximum 1.5 mg
  • No dosage adjustment in impaired renal and hepatic function
