Indications
- Adjunct to diet and exercise for type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Reduces risk of cardiovascular death in type 2 diabetes patients with established cardiovascular disease
Pharmacology
- Sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor
- Reduces renal threshold for glucose

Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of 10 mg once daily
- Can be increased to 25 mg once daily
- Morning administration
- With or without food
- Correct volume depletion before initiation
Interaction
- Interacts with diuretics
- Interacts with insulin or insulin secretagogues
