Indications
- Treatment of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
- Adjunct in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
- Akinetic and myoclonic seizures

Pharmacology
- Exhibits anticonvulsive, sedative, muscle relaxing, and anxiolytic effects
- Enhances GABAergic neurotransmission at inhibitory synapses
- Rapidly suppresses various types of paroxysmal activity including seizures
DosageAdministration
- Initial dose for adults with seizure disorders should not exceed 1.5 mg/day
- Initial dose for adults with panic disorder is 0.25 mg
- Pediatric dose should be between 0.01 and 0.03 mg/kg/day
- Injection dosage varies for infants, children, and adults
Interaction
- Does not alter the pharmacokinetics of phenytoin, carbamazepine, or phenobarbital
- Effect on the metabolism of other drugs has not been investigated

- History of hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
- Clinical or biochemical evidence of significant liver disease
- Acute narrow angle glaucoma
