Pharmacology
- Montelukast is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor (CysLT1)
Dosage & Administration
- Adults and adolescents dosage: Montelukast 10 mg tablet once daily
- Pediatric patients dosage: Montelukast 5 mg/4 mg tablet once daily
- No dosage adjustment required in patients with mild-to-moderate hepatic/renal insufficiency
Interaction
- No clinically important effects on the pharmacokinetics of certain drugs observed
- Used concomitantly with a wide range of commonly prescribed drugs in clinical studies without evidence of clinical adverse interactions
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product
