Composition
- Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1250 mg (Coral source)
- Each tablet contains Vitamin D USP 200 IU
- Each DX tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (Coral source)
- Each DX tablet contains Vitamin D USP 400 IU
- Each effervescent tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (Coral source)
- Each effervescent tablet contains Vitamin D3 400 IU as Cholecalciferol USP
Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water or as directed by physician
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink orally
- Taking on a full stomach ensures better absorption
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Simultaneous treatment with ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce vitamin D absorption
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of tetracycline preparations
- Hypercalcaemia may increase the toxicity of cardiac glycosides
- Oxalic acid and phytic acid may inhibit calcium absorption
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the component of this preparation
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy
Side Effects
- Orally administered Calcium Carbonate may be irritating to the GI tract
- May cause constipation, allergic reactions, irregular heartbeats, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, dry mouth, and drowsiness
- High doses may lead to hypercalcemia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Overdoses should be avoided due to potential adverse effects on the developing fetus
- No indications of teratogenicity in humans
- Can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
- Serum calcium levels and renal function should be monitored during long-term treatment
- Patients with impairment of renal function should use vitamin D with caution
- Caution in patients with sarcoidosis and immobilised patients with osteoporosis
- Consideration of additional vitamin D doses under close medical supervision
Overdose Effects
- Can lead to hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcemia
- Symptoms may include anorexia, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disturbances, polydipsia, polyuria, and more
