Indications
- Treats single infections or mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms
- Effective against bacteria resistant to other antibiotics like Aminoglycosides, Penicillins, and Cephalosporins
- Recommended for infections in urinary, respiratory, and gastrointestinal tracts, gonorrhea, and septicaemia
Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
- Broad spectrum activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria
- Bactericidal action from interference with DNA gyrase enzyme
