Indications
- Anaphylaxis

Pharmacology
Provides anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting Phospholipase A2 enzyme and decreasing the release of certain immune system chemicals.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults:
- Up to 120 mg/day for acute disorders
- 3-18 mg/day maintenance dose for rheumatoid arthritis
- Children:
- 0.25-1.5 mg/kg/day maintenance dose
- Titration to the lowest effective dosage
Interaction
Metabolized in the liver; dose adjustments required for liver enzyme inducers or inhibitors.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Patients receiving live virus immunization

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy: May increase risk of intrauterine growth retardation if administered for prolonged periods

Precautions & Warnings
- Special Caution for:
- Cardiac disease or congestive heart failure
- Gastritis or oesophagitis
- Diabetes mellitus or family history
- Emotional instability or psychotic tendency
- Potassium Supplementation: May be necessary due to salt and water retention
- Peptic Ulcer: Caution required for active or latent ulcers
Use in Special Populations
- Hepatic Impairment: Requires careful monitoring and adjustment of minimum effective dose
- Renal Impairment: No special precautions necessary
- Elderly: Common adverse effects may have more serious consequences in old age
