Composition
- Each tablet contains 1250 mg of calcium carbonate (Coral source)
- Each tablet contains 500 mg of elemental calcium
- Each tablet contains 200 IU of Vitamin D
- Each DX tablet contains 1500 mg of calcium carbonate (Coral source)
- Each DX tablet contains 600 mg of elemental calcium
- Each DX tablet contains 400 IU of Vitamin D
- Each effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg of calcium carbonate (Coral source)
- Each effervescent tablet contains 600 mg of elemental calcium
- Each effervescent tablet contains 400 IU of Vitamin D3 as Cholecalciferol
Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Take one tablet once or twice daily with plenty of water
- Taking with a full stomach ensures better absorption
- Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink orally
- Stir the solution with a spoon before drinking
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Concomitant use may require increased calcium tablet dose
- Ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce vitamin D absorption
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with tetracycline absorption
- Hypercalcemia may increase cardiac glycoside toxicity
- Administer bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride at least three hours apart from calcium tablet intake
- Oxalic acid and phytic acid may inhibit calcium absorption
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Avoid overdoses as it may lead to permanent hypercalcemia and adverse effects on the developing fetus
- No teratogenic effects reported in humans
- Calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Monitor serum calcium levels during long-term treatment
- Monitor renal function in elderly patients on concomitant cardiac glycoside or diuretic treatment
- Use vitamin D with caution in patients with impaired renal function
- Consider the risk of soft tissue calcification
- Monitor serum calcium levels in patients with severe renal insufficiency
- Precaution with immobilized patients with osteoporosis
- Consider dose when prescribing other drugs containing vitamin D
- Additional doses of calcium or vitamin D should be taken under close medical supervision
Overdose Effects
- Hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcemia
- Symptoms include anorexia, thirst, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, mental disturbances, and more
- Persistently high calcium levels may lead to irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification
- Treatment includes discontinuation of calcium and other medications, rehydration, and monitoring of serum electrolytes and renal function
