Indications
- Reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure
- Treatment of symptomatic heart failure
- Administered in conjunction with other heart failure therapies
Pharmacology
- Contains a neprilysin inhibitor and an angiotensin receptor blocker
- Inhibits neprilysin (NEP) via LBQ657
- Blocks the angiotensin II type-1 (AT1) receptor via valsartan
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended starting dose for adult heart failure
- Double the dose after 2 to 4 weeks
- Recommended dose titration for pediatric heart failure

- Potassium-sparing Diuretics
- NSAIDs

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component
- History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor or ARB therapy
- Concomitant use of ACE inhibitors or aliskiren in patients with diabetes

Pregnancy & Lactation

- Lowers blood pressure and may cause symptomatic hypotension
- Monitor serum potassium periodically

Overdose Effects
- Hypotension is the most likely result of overdosage
- Symptomatic treatment should be provided
