Description
- Once-daily maintenance bronchodilator treatment for COPD patients
- Long-acting antimuscarinic agent for significant and long-lasting bronchodilation in COPD
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose of one inhalation capsule once daily
- Each capsule contains 50 micrograms
- Administered orally using an inhalation device
- Should be taken at the same time every day
Interaction
- Not recommended for co-administration with inhaled anti-cholinergic drugs
- Used concomitantly with sympathomimetic bronchodilators, methylxanthines, oral and inhaled steroids
- Concomitant administration with orally inhaled indacaterol does not affect pharmacokinetics
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to glycopyrronium or excipients
Side Effects
- Common side effects: dry mouth, cough, vomiting, musculoskeletal pain, diabetes mellitus, insomnia
- Less common side effects: paradoxical bronchospasm, dysphonia, angioedema, hypersensitivity, pruritus, sinus congestion, throat irritation
- Higher frequencies in elderly patients above 75 years: urinary tract infection, headache

Precautions & Warnings
- Not for the treatment of acute bronchospasm
- Not for use in patients under 18 years of age
- Caution in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or urinary retention
- Discontinue if signs of allergic reaction occur
- May result in paradoxical bronchospasm
- Caution in patients with severe renal impairment
Overdose Effects
- High doses may lead to anticholinergic signs and symptoms
- Symptomatic treatment may be indicated
