Description
Docetaxel Axios is a microtubule inhibitor indicated for various cancers such as Breast Cancer, Non-small Cell Lung Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Gastric Adenocarcinoma, and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck.

Mode of Action
Disrupts microtubular network, vital for cellular functions, promotes tubulin assembly, inhibits disassembly, binds to free tubulin, decreases intracellular tubulin concentration
Dosage & Administration
- Administer intravenously
- Premedicate with oral corticosteroids
- Adjust dose as needed
Interaction
CYP3A4 substrate, metabolism may be modified by concomitant administration of compounds
Contraindications
- Neutrophil counts <1500 cells/mm3
- History of severe hypersensitivity reactions to docetaxel or other drugs formulated with polysorbate 80

Precautions & Warnings
- Use under supervision of experienced physician
- Higher risk in patients with hepatic impairment
- Not recommended for patients with neutrophil counts <1500 cells/mm3
- Fatal cases of enterocolitis reported
- Severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur
- Treatment related acute myeloid leukemia may occur
Overdose Effects
No known antidote, close monitoring of vital functions, anticipated complications of bone marrow suppression, peripheral neurotoxicity, and mucositis
