Indications

  • Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer treatment
  • First-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer
  • Palliative treatment of adult patients with non-small cell lung cancer
  • Treatment of locally advanced or metastatic adenocarcinoma of the pancreas
  • Treatment of 5-FU refractory pancreatic cancer
  • Treatment of advanced bladder cancer in combination with Cisplatin therapy
  • Treatment of metastatic breast cancer in patients who have relapsed following adjuvant/neoadjuvant chemotherapy
  • Treatment of recurrent epithelial ovarian carcinoma in patients who have relapsed following platinum-based therapy

Pharmacology

  • Metabolism by nucleoside kinases
  • Cytotoxic action: inhibition of DNA synthesis
  • Inhibition of ribonucleotide reductase
  • Competition with dCTP for incorporation into DNA
