Indications
- Treatment of androgenic alopecia in males and females
- Stabilisation of hair loss in patients with androgenic alopecia
- Treatment of alopecia areata
Pharmacology
- Stimulates hair growth
- Increases oxygen, blood, and nutrient supply to hair follicles
- Widens blood vessels
- Inhibits androgen hormone affecting hair follicles
Dosage & Administration
- External use only
- Apply to clean and dry hair and scalp
- Apply 1 ml (7 sprays) twice daily at 12-hour intervals
- Allow solution to remain on scalp for about 4 hours before washing
- Avoid massaging into the scalp
- Do not use a hair dryer to speed up drying
- Do not mix with hair oil
Interaction
- Should not be used with topical agents altering the stratum corneum barrier
- May potentiate orthostatic hypotension caused by peripheral vasodilators
Contraindications
- Patients with cardiac abnormalities
- Children below 18 years of age
- Patients using occlusive dressings or other medicines on the scalp
- Patients with red, inflamed infection, irritable, or painful scalp (e.g., psoriasis & sunburn)

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Should not be used during pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- More likely to cause scalp irritation
- Discontinue use if scalp irritation continues or worsens
Overdose Effects
- Increased systemic absorption
- Cardiovascular effects associated with sodium and water retention
- Tachycardia
- Fluid retention managed with diuretic therapy
- Tachycardia can be controlled by beta-adrenergic blocking agent
