Indications
- Topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis
- Topical treatment of tinea cruris
- Topical treatment of tinea corporis
- Caused by Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum
Pharmacology
- Topical antifungal agent
- Broad-spectrum antifungal agent
- Belongs to the azole group
- Inhibits the enzyme lanosterol demethylase
- Blocks ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membrane
- Strong fungicidal activity against dermatophytes
- Strong fungicidal activity against Candida albicans
- Strong fungicidal activity against Malassezia spp
- Strong fungicidal activity against Trichophyton and Epidermophyton spp
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: Once daily for two weeks for interdigital tinea pedis
- Adult dosage: Once daily for one week for tinea cruris and tinea corporis
- Pediatric: Safety and effectiveness have not been established
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Luliconazole
Side Effects
- Contact dermatitis
- Cellulitis
- Application site reactions
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Should be used during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk
- Caution should be exercised when applied to breastfeeding women
Precautions & Warnings
- Discontinue in case of unusual allergic reaction
- Recommended for topical use only
- Not intended for ophthalmic, oral or intravaginal use
