Indications
- Treatment of invasive aspergillosis
- Treatment of candidemia (nonneutropenic)
- Treatment of disseminated candidiasis in skin, abdomen, kidney, bladder wall, and wounds
- Treatment of esophageal candidiasis
- Treatment of serious infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum and Fusarium Species
- Treatment for patients intolerant of or refractory to other therapy
Pharmacology
- Voriconazole is a triazole antifungal medication
- Binds and inhibits ergosterol synthesis
- Inhibits CYP450-dependent 14-alpha sterol demethylase
- Results in depletion of ergosterol in fungal cell membrane

Interaction

Precautions & Warnings
- Long-term exposure greater than 180 days requires careful assessment of the benefit-risk balance
- Reported association with squamous cell carcinoma of the skin with long-term Vorifast treatment
