X-Ride 60 mg (Tablet)

Indications

• Treatment of premature ejaculation in men 18 to 64 years of age
• Persistent or recurrent ejaculation with minimal sexual stimulation
• Marked personal distress or interpersonal difficulty as a consequence of PE
• Poor control over ejaculation

Pharmacology

• Inhibition of neuronal reuptake of serotonin
• Potentiation of neurotransmitter's action
• Rapid absorption with maximum plasma concentrations
• Absolute bioavailability at 42%
• Extensively metabolized to multiple metabolites

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended starting dose for adult men is 30 mg
• Maximum recommended dosing frequency is once every 24 hours
• Not recommended for use in individuals below 18 years of age
• Caution advised in patients with mild or moderate renal impairment

Interaction

• Caution advised in combination with CNS active medicinal products
• Prescribed with caution in patients who use PDE5 inhibitors
• Caution advised in patients using alpha adrenergic receptor antagonists
• Caution recommended when used in patients taking Warfarin chronically

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to Dapoxetine Hydrochloride
• Significant pathological cardiac conditions
• Concomitant treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
• Concomitant treatment with serotonin reuptake inhibitors

• Insomnia
• Low rates of sexual dysfunction

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Not indicated for use by women
• No known excretion through human breast milk

Precautions & Warnings

• Patients advised not to use in combination with recreational drugs
• Combining alcohol with X-Ride may increase neurocognitive effects
• Patients need to be made aware they could experience syncope
• An orthostatic test should be performed before initiating therapy
• Caution advised in patients with a history of bleeding or coagulation disorders

Overdose Effects

• No case of overdose reported
• Symptoms may include serotonin-mediated adverse reactions
